Hazel Learns to Trust

Hazel arrived quiet and wary, keeping to the edges of the pasture and watching everything from a distance. The volunteers simply sat nearby each morning, offering patience and a few leaves.

“One day she walked up, pressed her nose into my hand, and stayed.”

Today Hazel leads the morning parade to the pasture gate, a goat who learned that this place was safe.

Barnaby Finds His Herd

Barnaby spent his first weeks alone, unsure of the other animals. Little by little, he started following the older donkeys around the paddock, matching their slow, steady pace.

“Now he naps in the sun with his friends, as if he’d always belonged.”

Recovery, trust, and a calm place to rest — that’s what a second chance looks like here.
